Torres Strait Regional Authority congratulates Ms Yoshiko Hirakawa on her retirement

Torres Strait Regional Authority’s Chairperson, Board and Administration extends its congratulations to Ms Yoshiko Hirakawa PSM on her retirement from the Torres Strait Regional Authority (TSRA). Ms Hirakawa is set to retire after nearly 27 years working for the TSRA.

The TSRA Chairperson, Mr Napau Pedro Stephen AM, acknowledged Ms Hirakawa’s dedication and valued service to the people of the Torres Strait and Northern Peninsula Area.

In 2007, Ms Hirakawa was awarded a Public Service Medal for outstanding public service in the development of policy, project management and the coordination of secretariat services in the TSRA.

“Ms Hirakawa will be deeply missed by all staff and Board Members. We wish her well on her future endeavours,” he said.

After a busy 12 months, the TSRA Board met on Thursday Island for their final Board Meeting for 2021. It was wonderful to end the year with the celebration of this milestone.

We wish Ms Hirakawa all the best in her retirement.
