The Land and Sea Management Strategy for Torres Strait seeks to:
- Guide TSRA investment of existing resources to agreed priorities;
- Seek additional direct and indirect funding from government and non-government investors, philanthropic organisations and other supporters; and
- Help partner agencies and organisations align their activities, research and work programs with Strategy priorities.
TSRA is developing an investment prospectus to provide information to help potential investors decide whether to put their resources into continuing and proposed land and sea management initiatives in the region. These initiatives will deliver mutual benefits for Torres Strait communities and the wider public, and could include a range of environmental management services (including biosecurity protection, conservation of critical ecosystems, and carbon capture, for example).
