General Manager Appointed to Torres Strait Regional Authority

The Torres Strait Regional Authority (TSRA) Chairperson Mr John T Kris has announced the appointment of Mr Wayne See Kee to his second term as General Manager of the Torres Strait Regional Authority.

“The Minister for Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs the Hon Jenny Macklin has formally advised of us Mr See Kee’s appointment which is in accordance with section 144G of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Act 2005.

“We welcome Mr See Kee back for his second term as General Manager and look forward to working with him to build on the successes we have achieved over the last five years,” Mr Kris said.

The role of the General Manager is to head the administrative arm of the TSRA and work closely with the TSRA Chairperson and Board Members.

The Administrative arm of the TSRA consists of 86 staff who ensure the successful and compliant administration of the TSRA’s seven program areas as well as the finance and corporate governance functions of the TSRA.

Mr See Kee said he was honoured to accept the offer of a second term as General Manager.

“We have a great team of dedicated staff and elected members and I feel very privileged that I have been given the opportunity to work with such a great team of people,” Mr See Kee said.
