TSRA ANNUAL REPORT WINS PRINT INDUSTRY EXCELLENCE AWARD For immediate release 26 November 2010 The Torres Strait Regional Authority (TSRA) has won Best Annual Report 2 or 3 Colour – Offset in the recent PAGE (Printing and Graphic Excellence) Awards held in Canberra on Friday 19 November, 2010.
TSRA’s printer, Bluestar Group, entered the Annual Report in the PAGE Awards because of the consistent positive feedback received about the report since its tabling in the Australian Parliament on 28 October 2010.The PAGE Awards are open to the printing industry and all state based winners are automatically entered into the National PAGE Awards in March 2011, and the TSRA Annual Report will now compete against other state winners in the Annual Report category.
TSRA Chairperson Mr John T Kris said this was an exciting achievement, and an honour for the TSRA Annual Report to now compete against Annual Reports produced by large multi-national companies such as Qantas and the banking sector.
"It is especially great when you consider this report was the first one to utilise our new program structure, which meant for the first time in 16 years the entire structure and design of the report was overhauled and re-done. “Our TSRA Communications Coordinator Rebecca Murphy and Blue Star graphic artist Elise Knotek spent weeks ensuring the design and page layouts were as close to perfect as possible, which was challenging given the report was produced remotely over the telephone and electronically – between Thursday Island and Canberra.”
The ceramic turtle featured on the cover was created by Torres Strait Islander artist Ms Ella Savage, and the design carried throughout adding to the uniqueness of the report.
“There was a big team effort from TSRA and FaHCSIA behind producing the content for the Annual Report, and I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this award winning report,” Mr Kris concluded.
