Nancy Mola lives on Ngarupai (Horn Island) in the Torres Strait and has been making contemporary jewellery our of locally sourced materials since 1999. In 2005 Nancy became interested in Hawaiian kukui nuts and now also creates bracelets, earrings and necklaces featuring island designs including turtles, hibiscus and coconut palms.
Nancy has always enjoyed creating jewellery, which she began as a weekend hobby, selling locally at markets on Ngarupai and Waiben (Thursday Island). Nancy's handmade creations are now seen widely throughout the Torres Strait and Northern Peninsula and are available in store exclusively through the Gab Titui Cultural Centre.
