The Torres Strait Regional Authority (TSRA) is a Commonwealth statutory body engaged in a wide range of service delivery functions to Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal people living in the Torres Strait region. The TSRA is currently offering a 24-month traineeship in Certificate III in Tourism (Operations) at the Gab Titui Cultural Centre.
Are you interested in working in a cultural environment? This traineeship will assist you to gain the skills necessary to complete a certificate III in Tourism Operations. Tourism Operations Trainees will be given the opportunities to learn skills required to perform duties associated with the operations of guided tours, programs development, customer service and development of Indigenous tourism.
Certificate III in Tourism (Operations) Traineeship
Salary ($8,996 - $23,556 per annum)
TSRA traineeships combine full-time work at the Gab Titui Cultural Centre and formal administration training at Thursday Island TAFE. The trainee will be fully supervised and required to work in areas of the Gallery, Keeping Place, Gallery Shop and Administration sections of the Gab Titui Cultural Centre.
Trainee wages will be paid in accordance with the National Training Wage Award 2000 and all other employment conditions will be covered by the Torres Strait Regional Authority Collective Agreement 2006 -2009. Salary level will be dependent on age, highest level of schooling completed, and time since leaving school.
